    Eye Care Seminar

    I am an ophthalmologist, a new faculty member of UPMC – University of Pittsburgh Medical School. I am posting to find if there might be an interest in an eye care seminar on topics, such as: refractive surgery, cataracts, glaucoma, or corneal transplant. Every day I see patients who have questions about eye care for themselves or their family members. Please let me know, if you or your organization have any questions about your eyes.

    Hi, Thanks for your postings. Obviously there are lots of questions. As for refractive surgery, the main side effect is dry eyes within the first 3 months of the surgery. The most important thing for a surgeon to determine is if you are a good candidate. If you would like, you can call to schedule a free quick refractive evaluation at UPMC-Oakland. We would take a look at the condition of your eyes and do some scans to determine if surgery is safe for you. Please call 412-647-2917.
