You might be aware that many people maybe hot, have a headache, and need to refuel their car, but self-awareness acknowledges those facets of your surroundings as they apply to just you. Self-awareness then enables you, and only you, to take direct action to deal with those facets that have arisen in your awareness, or at least deal with them if you are able to. You might not be able to deal with someone else's headache or even want to, which in itself is a self-awareness reaction.
