Well, according to the guys on discord that there are a lot of items being developed that aren't in Torchlight Frontiers - two classes, skill-trees for the pets, more harm types and much more unique affixes for the items. They actually have a policy to not announce things before they are sure they are making it into Torchlight Frontiers and are glossy enough to showcase.Based on earlier feedback Torchlight Frontiers was changed somewhat since the initial public alpha 4 months ago so I'm somewhat optimistic.

The significant changes so far aren't a great deal but they included the frontier leveling and removed the previous system that forced you to continuously learn passives to equip increased level objects. Additionally the skills are in fact less difficult to get now than they used to be - before you had to invest a great amount of crafting materials into the art gold and buildings was actually useless. In addition they took out nearly all of the relic weapons so as to rework them to have more effect on the character's build and some low-impact passive abilities were removed as well. Oh and also the mapworks system is a bit more fleshed out today than it used to be.

In terms of the playtime - I saw you seen different frontiers with your dusk mage character that appears to additionally have retained you in lesser level environments and I personally just dashed one frontier as fast as possible. Still I do not think you should force yourself to perform now but you should probably check Torchlight Frontiers again in a month or two after we get a few of the changes and the content they're working on right now. I personally expect them to declare something at GDC this week as they are based in San Francisco so it sort of makes sense to me but that I could be incorrect:-RRB-?
