Do-It-Yourself Solar Power System - Where to Find the Best System

LEDs (Light Emitting Diodes) I think this will make a great solution since it's 10 times more efficient, problem is one LED based bulb is about 60 bucks! I'm gonna pass because I didn't want to spend $240 to save it back in a year. I mean $240 to spend on 4 light bulbs! Then I remembered the pigtail bulbs as my dad calls them, these are the tried and tested technology, and cheap too, about the same price as the premium GE Reveal bulbs I was replacing, I grabbed a multi-pack of the fluorescent bulbs for about $10 and headed back to my home, once there I switched out the bulbs.

That was easy, this would be the end of the story if I had not left off an important piece of information; I have a dimmer switch attached to these lights. A Dimmer switch? So what? I thought so too. at first the bulbs were fine because I had it set to full brightness all the time, non-event. after a few weeks I was doing some writing late at night and decided that I did not want full brightness so I used the dimmer function to lower the brightness.

At first the lighting was fine there was low hum coming off the lights and if you have had dimmer switches you get used to the fact that some bulbs will give off a sound when dimmed. I thought nothing of it till the flickering. I'm lazy, the reason I have this dimmer is that it has a remote control, I can adjust the lights from my desk even though they are built in room lights and the switch plate is across the room. I grabbed the remote thinking that turning up the light would make the flickering stop.
